Nina Garcia is the editor in chief of ELLE, the No. 1 fashion magazine brand in the world, with 46 international editions. She began her fashion media career at Mirabella and served as fashion director of ELLE from 2000 to 2008, after holding other roles with the title since 1995. Before her return to ELLE, Garcia was the creative director of Marie Claire, where she introduced franchise editorial sections and award-winning fashion content.
Responsible for covering the designer fashion markets of New York, Milan and Paris, Garcia is an elite authority of the industry who has cultivated an adoring global fan-base of fashion “insiders.” She has hosted the red carpet for ABC’s Oscar telecast, has been a judge on the Peabody Award-winning show Project Runway since it launched in 2004, and serves as a style expert on programs including Good Morning America, The View, Today, CNN and more.
Garcia is a New York Times bestselling author of four books on style. She was honored by Fashion Group International in 2010 with the prestigious Oracle Award and in the same year, received the Individual Achievement award from the Hispanic Federation. In 2015, Garcia received the Champion of Educational Excellence Award from the Oliver Scholars Program. She accepted The Daily’s Magazine of the Year Award in 2018 after her first year as Editor-in-Chief of ELLE.
Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, she is a graduate of Boston University and Fashion Institute of Technology.
